The situation

The customer bought a three-piece sectional at the UTC store and took the pickup discount instead of store delivery. The store would hold it for 72 hours; the store's own delivery slot was more than a week out and covered curbside only.

The La Jolla drop was a second-floor unit with an exterior staircase and a 34-inch doorway — the reason two earlier quotes came back with vague 'stairs may add charges' language.

What the crew did

We measured from the customer's photos before quoting, so the price was fixed before the truck rolled. Two crew members loaded at the UTC dock with the store's paperwork and pad-wrapped each piece.

At the drop, we removed the chaise legs to clear the doorway, carried all three pieces up, reattached the legs, and levelled the sectional against the wall the customer wanted it on.

Packaging and cardboard went back on the truck and were recycled, so nothing was left on the landing.
