The situation
The homeowners were preparing to sell and needed the garage photographable by the weekend. Mixed load: a sofa, metal shelving, boxed kitchenware, and a broken recliner.
They wanted anything usable donated, not landfilled, but had no way to transport it.
What the crew did
We sorted on site into donate, recycle, and dispose. The sofa, shelving and boxed goods were donatable; the broken recliner was not.
Donatable items went to a local donation partner the same day; metal went to recycling; only the recliner reached the landfill.
Garage swept before we left.
How it turned out
Photo-ready garage in an afternoon, with the majority of the load kept out of the waste stream. A flat landfill fee applies only to the damaged, non-donatable pieces.
