Why PB jobs are about access, not distance

Almost nothing in Pacific Beach is more than three miles from anywhere else in the neighborhood, so mileage is rarely what decides the job. What decides it is where the truck can legally sit while two people carry a sectional up an exterior staircase.

Most of the housing stock west of Ingraham is 1960s–1980s stacked apartments and converted beach cottages: exterior stairs, 32-inch doorways, and a shared alley behind. We plan the approach from the alley wherever a garage apron exists, because the street frontage is often red-curbed or metered with a 2-hour limit.

The PB mix skews light and single-item: a queen mattress out, a Marketplace couch in, a desk from a UTC store, a fridge swap in a Crown Point duplex.

Timing around Garnet and the beach blocks

West of Mission Boulevard, we book morning windows year-round: by early afternoon in summer, the blocks between Grand and Law Street are effectively parked out and a long carry gets added to the job.

East of Ingraham — Crown Point and the Mission Bay side — afternoon windows are usually fine. If you're on a street with permit-only frontage, tell us at booking and we'll bring the shorter truck.

Lease turnover and disposal

PB runs on annual leases with heavy turnover, and a lot of what we're called for is the furniture left behind. Disposal is priced by weight, and we route reusable pieces to donation first rather than straight to a transfer station.
