Bungalow doorways decide the job

A 1925 North Park bungalow typically has a 30–32 inch front door, a porch turn, and an interior hallway that was never designed for a modern 40-inch-deep sectional. Roughly a third of the deliveries we do in 92104 involve either removing a door on its hinges or bringing a piece in through the back.

This is why we ask for a doorway photo on anything over about seven feet wide. It costs you nothing at booking and it prevents the failed-delivery conversation on the porch.

Assembly is the common add-on here

Because so much furniture cannot enter these houses assembled, North Park is our highest-volume neighborhood for delivery-plus-assembly. A flat-pack wardrobe or bed frame goes in as components and gets built in the room.

Assembly runs $100/hour, with the first 15 minutes free when it's on the same visit as a delivery.

Parking, permits and the 30th Street corridor

Much of North Park, University Heights and Golden Hill sits under permit-parking or heavily contested frontage, especially near 30th Street and along the University and El Cajon commercial strips. Alleys are the workaround: nearly every original block has one, and a rear-garage approach is usually faster than the front.

For the newer mid-rise condos, tell us the building at booking — several require a certificate of insurance on file and a reserved elevator before a crew can load in.

Clear-outs and canyon-edge homes

Golden Hill and the Switzer and 32nd Street canyon rims have homes where the garage sits a full storey below the living space. Those are stair jobs, and we price them by weight the same way — but the crew size we send is our problem, not a line on your invoice.

My North Park bungalow has a narrow front door. Can the sofa still get in?

Usually yes. We measure the door, the porch turn and the hallway, and we remove the door from its hinges when that buys the inch we need. If nothing works, an assembly-in-place or a different route through the back is the fallback — we tell you before the truck is loaded, not after.

Do you assemble furniture on the same visit?

Yes. Assembly is $100 per hour and the first 15 minutes are free when it's bundled with a delivery. Standalone assembly has a one-hour minimum.

Can you use the alley instead of the street?

That's our default on original North Park and South Park blocks. Alley access to a detached garage is almost always quicker than fighting for permit frontage out front.
