Costco Furniture Delivery in San Diego: Getting It Home and Inside
Bought furniture, a mattress or an appliance at Costco in San Diego? How to get it delivered, carried upstairs and set up — with flat pricing by weight.

Costco warehouse furniture is a genuinely good deal right up to the moment you have to get a 220 lb sectional box out of the parking lot in Mission Valley or Carmel Mountain and into a second-floor apartment.
The gap Costco leaves
Warehouse purchases are take-with. Costco's online orders ship separately and often arrive curbside or threshold — the box gets to your door, not to your bedroom, and nobody unboxes it, carries it upstairs, or takes the packaging away. For a mattress-in-a-box that is fine. For a dining table it is not.
What we do instead
- Meet you at the warehouse or collect the item on your behalf with your receipt.
- Load, wrap and strap it properly rather than balancing it on a folded seat.
- Carry it to the room it belongs in, stairs included.
- Unbox and take the cardboard with us if you want.
- Assemble it on the same visit if it needs assembling.
What it costs
Flat rate by weight plus $2/mile from mile one: $120 under 100 lbs, $240 for 100–200 lbs, $340 for 200–300 lbs. Over 300 lbs is quoted from a photo. Delivery starts at $120.
A few typical Costco pieces:
- Queen mattress in a box: usually 100–200 lbs.
- Fabric sectional in two or three cartons: 200 lbs and up combined.
- Office desk or bookcase: often under 100 lbs.
- Patio set: depends heavily on whether the frames are aluminum or cast.
Bundle the old one
If the new sectional replaces an old couch, add removal to the same visit. Disposal is priced by weight too — $150 up to 150 lbs, $240 for 150–250 lbs, $2/lb over 250 lbs, plus a $100 landfill fee where the item cannot be donated. Doing both on one visit is dramatically cheaper than booking two.
Before you buy
- Measure your narrowest doorway and the tightest stair turn.
- Check the box dimensions on the item's shelf tag, not the assembled dimensions.
- Ask whether it ships assembled — patio and office furniture often does not.
